ABOUT

ArtSohyang will hold a group exhibition.
Exhibition titled 《What we've lost》 is being held, featuring works by four artists from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, China.
The artists in this exhibition come from a wide range of generations and majors: Gam Seong-bin (b. 1983) majored in sculpture, Shumu (b. 1994) majored in printmaking, Cho Se-rang (b. 1977) majored in ink and wash painting, and Pygma (b. 1997) majored in mural painting.
One of the attractions of this exhibition will be seeing the diverse visual languages based on Chinese and Korean traditions.

Contemporary artists who destroy beauty and express things that cannot be explained in words through visual language are constantly practicing Derrida’s mourning through the medium of art.
The emotions of losing someone precious and feeling sad and pained are perhaps the most vivid and intense emotions that humans can feel, so artists cannot help but continue to desire to leave them behind visually in some way.
Artists Gam Seong-bin, Shumu, Cho Se-rang, and Pygma, who are participating in 《What we,ve lost》 mourn the loss and absence that all living things inevitably have to live with, and the sadness for those who remain, in various forms.
