Born in 1998, Younghwan Park is a renowned Korean artist celebrated for his distinctive artistic universe, influenced by Oriental painting. His work revolves around the themes of 'time' and 'memory,' which are central to his exploration. In his creations, he visualises linear flowing time as spherical forms, where these spheres embody memories, with their brightness indicating clarity. Deep black spheres symbolise the present and vivid memories; spheres that fade as brightness diminishes depict past memories; white spheres represent death or complete oblivion.
In his works, the window serves as a boundary that both separates and connects the present with the past, as well as the interior with the exterior. Technically, he uses different types of ink to depict delicate colour transitions, ranging from basic black and white to shades of purple, blue, and green.
