Art Sohyang, Busan
- Art Sohyang will hold a two-person exhibition 《Magic Lantern》 by You-kyeong Oh (b.1979~) and Beom Hong (b.1970~) from April 19 (Thu) to May 26 (Sat). Artist You-kyeong Oh, whose formative sophistication and color sensibilities stand out, is well received for her work that shows the invisible power and energy to the outside. Beom Hong, who works based in New York, is attracting attention as a media and installation work that associates personal memories with space. This exhibition will be a meaningful time to introduce installation art, which is rarely encountered in Busan, through the eyes of the two artists.
Two artists, You-kyeog Oh and Beom Hong, who participate in the 《Magic Lantern》 show the true value of things that are lost and lost and extinguished in a civilized and industrialized environment through their respective perspectives.
Korean art has produced outstanding artists not only in painting but also in installation and performance, based on the rapid growth and influence of Western art, but it is concentrated on some artists who have achieved commercial success at auctions and art fairs. This exhibition will be an opportunity to examine the works of contemporary Korean installation artists that we have neglected in Busan, but at the same time, we will look at what direction these talented installation artists, who are attracting attention both at home and abroad for their sensational work in all countries, will go forward. It will be a great opportunity.
